About Us
We teach the tax law once, then the software
Lambo Tax Preparation Academy exists to turn careful students into confident, return-ready preparers — and to help everyone file their own return with understanding.

Our mission
One return, many interfaces
The academy turns a beginner into a return-ready preparer in about 14 weeks part-time, then certifies them on specific software in 1–2 week add-on tracks. The core idea: learn the tax law and the workflow once, on paper and on real forms, then learn each software as a different interface to the same return. A preparer who understands Form 1040, Schedule C and Form 1120-S can pick up a new package in days; one who only learned screens cannot.
Behind every module stands a working team: verified Enrolled Agents, CPAs and tax attorneys review the material, AI tutors Marcus and Elena answer questions around the clock, and scheduled video sessions connect you with a real expert when it counts.

How we teach
Practice first, lectures second
The teaching model is mastery-based, case-driven and retrieval-heavy: short explanation, a worked return, a faded practice return, then an independent return that must pass review before the learner moves on. Tax prep is a procedural skill applied to messy facts, so learners spend most of their time preparing returns, not watching lectures.
Paper before software
Learners understand what the screens produce and can review software output
Mastery gates
Gaps in filing status or income compound later; gates stop that
Worked examples, then fading
Novices learn procedures fastest from complete examples, then need support removed step by step
Case-based learning
Context makes rules stick and mirrors returning clients
Retrieval practice
Recalling beats rereading for long-term memory
Error-hunting
Builds the self-review habit that prevents notices and penalties

What our credentials mean
Behind the lessons
Every module is written to the same standard: teach the rule on a real IRS form, drill it on a worked return, then require an independent return that passes review. AI tutors Marcus and Elena answer questions around the clock, and verified Enrolled Agents, CPAs and tax attorneys are available for scheduled one-on-one video sessions.
